The basic consititute of servo robots and its classifications

 

Servo robot arm is a kind of high-tech active production equipment that has been widely used in recent decades. Robots play an important role in production process, productivity increasing, labor conditions improving and products renewal and updating. Thus it’s important for us to know better of the composition and classification of the servo robots.

 

As to the structure, the servo robot is consisted of the following components:

 

1. The hand (or grabbing tissue) includes fingers, force-transmitting tissues, etc., primarily to capture and place objects.

 

2. Transfer tissue (or arm) including wrists, arms, etc., primarily to change the direction and orientation of the object.

 

3. Drive device. It is the power of the first two parts, so it is also called the power source. There are four kinds of driving methods: hydraulic, pneumatic, electric power and machine power.

 

4. Manipulation. It is the command system of the servo robot action, which controls the order (program), orientation and time (even speed and acceleration) of the action.

 

5. Other parts such as the body, walking organization, travel inspection equipment and sensing equipment.

 

The classification of servo robots

 

The servo robots can be classified into four categories: the scope of application, the method of motion coordinates, the method of driving, and the size of the arm:

 

1. Dedicated servo robots usually only have a fixed program and no separate control system. It is used to automatically transfer objects or operate something from a certain machine or production line, such as "blank loading and unloading servo robot", "tram automatic lathe servo robot", "oil pump camshaft automatic line servo robot" and so on. This kind of servo arm robot or manipulator is simple in structure and low in cost, and is suitable for occasions where the operation is relatively simple and large-volume production.

 

2. Universal Servo Robots refers to a control system with a variable program and a single drive, which does not belong to a certain machine, and can automatically complete the transfer of the object or the operation of some mechanical equipment. The general servo manipulator can be divided into two types: simple type and servo type based on different positioning and control methods. The simple type is only controlled by the point, so it is attributed to the type of program control. The servo type can be controlled by the point, or it can be controlled by the track. It is usually attributed to the digital control type.
